Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) Chairman Snehasish Ganguly has expressed confidence in Saturday's inspection of Eden Gardens by the International Cricket Council (ICC). . Snehasish Ganguly said they are looking forward to hosting the 2023 ODI World Championship matches.
Eden Gardens in Kolkata is one of ten venues for the next World Championship. The legendary stadium will host four league matches and a semi-final. India and Pakistan will play at this venue if they qualify for the semi-finals of the main tournament.

Snehasish Ganguly expressed the team's confidence in preparing for any challenge, including the prospect of a game between India and Pakistan at the upcoming ODI World Cup.
"We are ready to meet all challenges. And if there is a consensus between India and Pakistan, it would be good for us. Nothing is more exciting than that,” Snehashish told India Today.
"We are ready. ICC is coming to inspect us, more work going on. We also have spoke to the police. They are also always ready to provide security. We are very confident," he added.
The Board of Control of Cricket India (BCCI) has allocated Rs 50,000 to each venue to upgrade facilities for the World Cup. ICC and BCCI officials recently carried out inspections in places like Delhi and Dharamsala to assess preparations for the tournament.
Eden Garden to host India-South Africa match
Eden Gardens is ranked with Wankhede Stadium as the best stadium and ground in the latest edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are the home team at this venue with the best facilities and haven't had a break recently.
The venue will host India's penultimate match of the league stage against South Africa on 5 November. The first match in this stadium will be played between Bangladesh and the Netherlands on October 28. The match between champions England and Pakistan will be played here on November 12.
