At the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on October 6, 2022, the Indian team will play their first one-day encounter against South Africa. Shikhar Dhawan will be the squad captain for India, and Temba Bavuma will be the captain for South Africa. The toss for the first One Day match will be completed at 1:00 PM IST, and the match will begin at 1:30 PM IST. South Africa defeated India by a margin of nine runs in the first One Day International, which was postponed on Thursday due to rain. South Africa scored 249 for 4 after being granted the chance to bat owing to fifty-sevens from David Miller (75 not out), Heinrich Klaasen (74 not out), and Quinton de Kock (48), and a 40-over-a-side game due to the soggy outfield. Sanju Samson led the chase with a 63-ball 86 not out, taking it far, but India's score of 240 for 8 was insufficient as they faltered to 51 for 4 in 17.4 overs as a response. Samson scored 50 for the hosts, and Shreyas Iyer also got 50 off of 37 balls. Despite some lusty hits from Shardul Thakur (33 off 31 balls), Lungi Ngidi (3/52) claimed two wickets in the 38th over to put an end to India's momentum. Taking two wickets himself was Kasigo Rabada (2/36). One of the Indian bowlers, Shardul Thakur, took two victims from the South Africans, while Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav each claimed one.

India beat South Africa by seven wickets in the second One Day International at the Wanderers on Sunday with 25 balls to spare as Shreyas Iyer hit his second ODI hundred. The second one-day international ended with Ishan Kishan (93) and Iyer putting on 161 runs for the third wicket, as the pace-setters defeated England to reach 282-3 in 45.5 overs. Iyer had his highest ODI score of 113 not out. Ishan Kishan appears to be in his customary hitting mode right now. His inning has featured four sixes and three fours. He drags him through deep mid-wicket just as South Africa hoped that by inserting Rabada, part of that would cease. runs down off him a few times in the same over, and 11 off it. After 29 overs, India is 167/2. And it ends there. India defeated Pakistan in Ranchi with a seven-wicket victory. Ishan Kishan Shreyas Iyer scored in the triple digits. With the decisive game on Tuesday in Delhi, the series is evenly matched.
THIRD ODI MATCH

In the third ODI played here on Tuesday, India showed off their tremendous depth as a youthful and inexperienced team defeated a potent South Africa team by seven wickets to win the series. South Africa was dismissed for 99, the Proteas' lowest ODI total against India, by the spin combination of Washington Sundar (2/15), Shahbaz Ahmed (2/32) and Kuldeep Yadav (4/18), who were able to choose the appropriate lengths on the sluggish Kotla pitch. In 19.1 overs, the batsmen for the home team, led by Shubman Gill (49), chased down a meagre 100-run mark. South Africa's chances of a direct qualification for the ODI World Cup the following year were further jeopardised by the series defeat. The performance of pacer Mohammad Siraj (2/17) continued to be strong, supporting his selection to the T20 World Cup team. While Washington and Shahbaz took wickets in the front, left-arm spinner Kuldeep, who went short of a hat-trick, cleaned up the tail. Chasing a modest target, opener Gill attacked the South African bowlers from the very first ball while skipper Shikha Dhawan took a back seat. The second-string side rallied from behind to win the three-match series 2-1, showcasing the quality of the Indian white-ball squad. After losing Dhawan, whose miserable series continued as he was run out for eight, and Ishan Kishan, the Indians, who appeared to be eager to wrap up the game, lost some of their momentum (10). Gill was stranded leg before with three runs needed, but Shreyas Iyer (28 not out) extended his impressive run by slamming three boundaries and two sixes, including the match-winning maximum, to lead India to victory. Washington's first victim, Quinton de Kock (6), top-edged the ball to Avesh Khan at backward point after hesitantly cutting it. Despite the fact that Reeza Hendricks (3) was caught leg before for what appeared to be India's second wicket in the seventh over, the South African protested the umpire's ruling. Before the pacer removed the opener as he attempted to play the pull shot, Janneman Malan (15) smashed Siraj for three boundaries in his subsequent overs. When Siraj got Hendricks (3) as the next batter, the South African batters continued to struggle and appeared out of sorts, giving Siraj his second goal. Shahbaz Ahmed's first victim was Aiden Makram (9), who was in the middle for 19 balls before he nicked it through to the keeper Sanju Samson. The ball slipped in from behind the wicket and clipped the outside of Miller's off stump. Kuldeep entered the attack in the 20th over after Andile Phehlukwayo failed to recognise his googly. South Africa moved closer to the 100-run threshold thanks to a 22-run partnership between Klaasen and newcomer Marco Jansen that contained a four and a six. Before Shahbaz could remove Klassen following a boundary, Jansen sprinted down the field for a six over long on. The lower order was then swept apart by Kuldeep's three-wicket haul as South Africa was dismissed in 27.1 overs.
