This weekend in New York, there will be a historic encounter between Pakistan and India in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 Cricket World Cup. The tournament began in Texas on Saturday, June 1st, with the United States and Canada playing the first match.
The U.S., which is co-hosting the T20 competition for the first time, will see the two neighboring countries play against one another for the first time on Sunday.
In a prior interview with USA TODAY, ICC CEO Geoff Allardice stated, "India vs Pakistan is one of the greatest international sporting rivalries in the world of sport and to bring that match as part of a T20 World Cup to New York is a very exciting moment for our sport."
India and Pakistan have each claimed a one T20 World Cup victory. Pakistan won the title in 2009, while India won the first edition in 2007.

On Sunday, June 9, at 10:30 a.m. ET, Pakistan and India will play their eagerly awaited encounter.
Approximately thirty miles east of downtown Manhattan, on Long Island, New York, will be the venue for the event: Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.
How to get ICC T20 World Cup match tickets?
When general ticket sales for the Pakistan vs. India match began in February, they nearly sold out right away. On the other hand, there are just a few seats available for $10,000 in the Diamond Club and $2,500 in the Premium Club Lounge.
At differing costs, tickets for the match may also be bought via independent companies including Stubhub, Tickets Center, and SeatGeek.
As of Monday afternoon, the lowest ticket price advertised on any of those resellers was $790 before fees.

The ICC has established fan parks in five nations, including the United States, to commemorate the occasion and provide supporters from all around the world with an opportunity to take part in the match.
"The fan parks will have live entertainment including DJs, as well as food and drink outlets, cricket ambassadors and family activities, making it an experience not to be missed for fans across the globe," the International Cricket Council said of the fan parks.
